Price range: $25.00 through $210.00

For the last SIX YEARS, I’ve offered consecutive monthly generative workshops for those interested in writing more, understanding poetry better, learning how to read like a writer, and being a part of a safe and warm writer’s community. Each year, the workshop goes through different transformations and in 2025, participants will continue to get a chance to learn from each other as we explore various writers and concepts long-time participants suggested!

Since 2020, poets who have continued with this series have reached many milestones such as acceptance into writing programs and residencies, becoming featured readers, and publishing their poems and books both through traditional and self publishing avenues.

Open to writers of all levels, the 2026 workshops will have poets exploring various poetic subjects while being encouraged to comfortably push their boundaries of creation in a friendly, supportive, and nurturing virtual classroom environment. By the end of each 90 minute session, writers will have participated in journaling exercises, generative poetry prompts, and thought-provoking discussions on craft and professional development in order to walk away with a better understanding of how to talk about their own work. I guarantee that every participant will leave each session with one or more new drafts of writing.

*All Workshops will take place at 2pm EST.

Can’t make it? Not a problem! Every workshop will be recorded and sent to all participants.

*Some dates are subject to change for tour dates, festivals, and other events, though I will always do my best to communicate this with our writing group months in advance as well as keeping this time sacred for us.

Discount code available upon request.

I feel feedback is one of the most valuable resources a writer can receive. Each time I take one of Dimitri’s workshops I always leave with three things:

    1) A draft poem to expound upon and eventually publish.
    2) A writing technique to use in future projects.
    3) Confidence to keep writing!

If you like to collaborate with other poets from all over the world and receive top notch instruction Dimitri’s poetry workshops will not disappoint!

Dimitri’s workshops greatly enhanced the finer points of my writing techniques. He is gifted in making the complex simple. And his poetry platform on Patreon proved to be an excellent editorial service.

I just took my first course with Dimitri, after making his acquaintance through the Arts by the People community. I highly recommend! While most of the other folks had been participating for multiple workshops, I didn’t feel like a newbie at all. Dimitri is an exceptional poet, but also he is able to convey his knowledge to the group and make individual suggestions as well. He manages sharing information, moderates discussion and allows for writing time in 90 minutes without feeling rushed. I’m looking forward to more workshops with him in the future!

Dimitri is an extraordinary instructor and exceptional poetry who knows how to incentivize, lead, inspire, and bring other poets to the page. His insight (coupled with his amazing grasp of craft and technique) make him the poet of the people/ poets. My second collection wouldn’t exist without him.

Dimitri’s workshops have proven to be an important part of courting poetry as he says. It allows me to fight through writer’s block and feel part of the community. He has so much to offer writers of all variety and levels. I’m so grateful to have found him and his workshops.

Dimitri’s workshops have been a great place to find community and inspiration. Dimitri is an amazing facilitator, high energy, with great planning for his workshops. He’s a fantastic and encouraging mentor and friend. We always get so much done with great discussion and concrete tips for our own work. 10/10 recommend!

  7. Kristine

These workshops are excellent. As an instructor, Dimitri is incredibly knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and deeply passionate about both art and teaching. The workshops have an interactive aspect, too; we engage in discussions and generate our own work. I leave every session feeling creatively inspired and nourished as a writer. Highly recommend.

Dimitri’s workshops are fantastic, and I attend as often as my schedule allows. Each session provides a balance of craft analysis, discussion, writing, and connecting as a group. I love the range of topics and poems he provides, and I leave each workshop with new knowledge, inspiration, and encouragement to keep writing. The space Dimitri creates is warm, collaborative, and welcoming to poets of all experience levels.

I highly recommend these workshops – they’re a great value for a generously accessible cost!

Dimitri is not only talented poet , he is also a wonderful teacher and guide. These workshops are safe spaces where Dimitri introduces participants to a diverse body of contemporary poetry and encourages open discussion. He provides writing prompts that are thoughtful and inspirational, and I’ve been impressed by all the participants I’ve met over the past year.
